Hari ini, menurut berita dari detiknews.com terjadi keretakan di bibir kawah kaki Gunung Galunggung. Tepatnya di bibir kawah kaki Gunung Galunggung. Panjangnya sekitar 300 meter. Sementara lebarnya hanya sekitar 0,5 centimeter,” kata Kepala Posko Pengamatan Gunung Galunggung, Heri Supartono, saat dihubungi detikcom, Sabtu (5/9/2009). Korban-korban gempa sudah terserang penyakit ISPA.

Sedangkan di bagian Jawa Barat lainnya, tepatnya di Kampung Domas, Kecamatan Pontang, Serang Timur, pada pkl 19.00 wib terjadi angin kencang/bada sekitar 5 menit yg meratakan rumah. Kemudian keadaan bertambah ruwet karena diisukan terjadi tsunami.
